Thoughts

I am so sad to read this news. I stumbled across this page during some idle Googling to see what my former colleagues are up to. I worked with Dan at Goldman Sachs, we sat opposite each other. My main memory is of someone who was overwhelmingly and unfailingly nice. And I mean that in all the powerful, positive senses of the word - considerate, thoughtful, warm, supportive, generous with his time and attention. If I remember rightly it was the days of his first dates and early relationship with Abi and it was clear he was very happy, so it is lovely to learn that that happiness grew and produced two beautiful children. Sending my deepest condolences to his family and wishing you courage, kindness and compassion in your grief.

Dan and Hannah were like my big brother and sister growing up (Dan is my uncle and 6 years older than me for those who are unaware). I have lots of random, fond memories from that time: playing in the treehouse and garden all together, playing with his Star Wars toys, admiring his hand painted figurines. And some not so fond ones: mainly when he tickled me and I'd scream like a banchee for any adult help! (Still quite a fond memory!). I unfortunately haven't seen Dan in years as I'm not living in England anymore, but I know he's left a hole in many lives. Thank you, Dan, for contributing to a shared wonderful childhood.
